RRC is a voluntary on campus programme implemented by government in higher educational institutions to prompt voluntary blood donation, to aware the youth about various social evils mainly HIV-AIDS, Drug addiction, Drunk and driving. Red Ribbon is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness since 1991.It got popularity in the year of 1992. The New York Times declared 1992 as "The year of Ribbon." At that time, President Clinton set up the White House Office of National AIDS Policy to create awareness among the citizens. Now a day’s red ribbon had gotten so much attention for HIV- AIDS. The objective of Red Ribbon Club is to create awareness among students about STD/HIV/AIDS and let them spread this awareness among the society. It is the movement started by our government in the school and colleges to aware the youth regarding the disease which still has no cure. It can only prevented not cured. As Prevention is better than cure and prevention can only be done by creating awareness among the society about this disease. The red ribbon club organizes awareness camps at regular time intervals to support the persons suffering from HIV-AIDS and to aware the students. So that the youth can prevent themselves, their neighbourhood, friends and society by spreading the right knowledge about AIDS. Red is symbol of warning about the biggest non curable disease of our time. Red also represent the blood, anger, love, passion and the pain of the persons suffering from HIV-AIDS. RRC also encourages the students for blood donation and inculcate the feeling to serve the society.
K.L.P. College Rewari has an active unit of red ribbon club, which works for the students and with the students to create awareness among them and society. RRC organises various awareness programme in collaboration with YRC and NSS.
• T.B. awareness program was organized in association with civil hospital Rewari in seminar hall of our college. Mrs Seema Ansari (District program coordinator) and Mrs Vinita (DPPMC) had shared their valuable information regarding T.B. with students and emphasized to give their contribution to society to eliminate TB till 2025, as our government targets. Students were encouraged to spread this knowledge among their Neighbourhood, family and friends.
An Essay writing competition” was organized in college. Topics were given on the spot, to inculcate originality of thoughts among the students. 15 students have taken part in this competition. Topics given were: 1. Raising legal age of marriage for women 2. Hijab controversy in India 3. Role of students in eradication of drugs 4. Addiction of social media 5. Degradation of moral values among youngsters
• A medical camp (to check haemoglobin) for female students was organized in association with YRC wing of college and Indian medical association Rewari on 5th May 2022 in college library. 250 girls had given their samples to check out their haemoglobin. On the same day a valuable lecture was delivered by Dr Suman Yadav on the topic Anaemia, Causes and its prevention. Program was graced by the presence of Dr Krishna Kumar (CMO Rewari), IMA President Dr R. B. Yadav, Dr Abhay Singh Yadav (Principal) RRC and YRC incharges and their team members
• An awareness program on HIV /AIDS, prevention control and treatment was organized in seminar hall. This program was organized by Red Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross of KLP College Rewari in association with Haryana state legal service authority and health department Rewari. Mrs Varsha Jain (CJM Rewari) was the chief guest and had given her valuable suggestions and information to the students about legal activities and HIV /AIDS. Doctor Chetna , Mrs Suman Yadav (counsellor) and Sh Harish Kumar had also shared their knowledge about HIV/ AIDS with our students
